Where were you when the world didn't stop turning????.....?????

What?  The world is still here???!!

Yup, I went to bed Friday night realistic, knowing that this world as I live it was not going to end.  But it didn't stop me from enjoying the blubberings of those convinced that we would all be incinerated.  For a moment I thought about those Doomseday Preppers, and yippee for them, they were prepared!! Hahahaha!!  By the time I was crawling into my bed, snuggling up under the warmth of the bed covers and enjoying the body heat from my husband, I knew that if the world was to end, at least I was right with God and my husband.

I received that late night text from one of my children who wrote: "If the world ends, I love u".  That was alright with me.  She was in her own home, ready for the world to end as well.  Truthfully, as tough and independent that she is, she would have stepped out on her porch and told the world to stop destructing, and it most likely would have happened.  She's bossy like that.

Guess what?  To my surprise I woke up, and very well rested at that.  As I touched my feet to the floor, slipping on my house slippers, there was no detection of one single odor of burning buildings, or exploded gas lines, and no blisters found anywhere on my body.  Wow!  I survived!!  I guess now I'll just wait for my souvenir t-shirt:  "I survived the Doomsday of 2012!"

Now here it is Christmas Eve 2012.  Instead of waiting for the end, I think I'll just wait for the big fat man in the red suit as he stuffs himself down the chimney for the stuff that we really don't need.  Hahaha!!!  But that's alright.  I know I will enjoy every moment this Christmas as I'm surrounded by my family who love me unconditionally, and miss my family whom we can't be with this holiday, but are warm in my heart.

Today is February 29, 2001.  Leap year.  Wouldn't it be cool to be born on this day?  One would age very gracefully....

It was a beautiful day today on this leap day.  Scott and I enjoned a great motorcycle ride down to Hunting Island State Park, walked on the beach and were pleasantly surprised to see a pair of horses that were absolutely beautiful!  Their presence was breathtaking - so big and yet so gentle.  They were stunning with the backdrop of the fog on the beach.

Downtown Beaufort was our next stop - to have lunch served to us by our daughter (cheap girl, we still had to pay our bill and leave a tip! haha!).  I love that girl - she cracks me up!  It's always so great to see her.  We ended our ride by scooting out to Jack and Tammy's for a quick visit before ending our night at home with the family.

Looking forward to tomorrow and the surprises it will bring!

HAPPY HAPPY LEAP YEAR 2011 EVERYONE!

Life goes on....

So what was today? (well, yesterday now) - February 24, 2012. What amazing happening things have happened in the past few days?  Well, first and foremost - on the minds of many beaufortonians is the terrible collision of multiple cars this afternoon on Ribaut Road.  The frenzy of collisions was purposely caused by a man, who had been running the streets nude and found it necessary to steal a Beaufort City firetruck.  It is my understanding that at least one pedestrian was hit and killed intentionally by this irrational individual. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, and especially his brother who had been walking beside him when it happened.  Also thoughts go out to the people who had also been witness to this tragedy.   Let us not forget also the loss of Port Royal's Police Chief Cadian. He will be dearly missed by his family, extended family and this whole community.

As far as little old Kelly, life continues to flow on, and I have made peace with myself, my loved ones and my higher power as to where I am headed today - and that would be in the right direction. I'm very excited for the future and the unknown. Grow with peace, grow with love and grow with the strength that is so generous as it is handed to me from every direction. Everyone that has ever touched my life, I thank you and I carry a part of you with me.   I grow because of those I've known, those I still know and will continue to grow when I meet those that I haven't yet.

Aloha a hui' hou my friends!!!!

Oh what a better day today was!  I feel peace within and gratitude to many.  Got some gym time in, lunch with my husband and daughter at Magnolia's, taxes done and the phone call.  To top it off, pot roast by mom for kau-kau that was so ono-licious!

I find that it is not the circumstances in which we are placed, but the spirit in which we face them, that constitutes our comfort. -Elizabeth T. King

Aloha a hui hou y'all!

It's another Manic Monday....

Monday.  Who doesn't love a monday.  Really, no different than any other day, but we tend to associate mondays with craziness and stress.  Starting another "work week" with the crazy stuff of life.  I'm gonna keep it simple.

HORMONES.  Okay, well that's my excuse for today.  Wow, I had an afternoon of struggling with resentment.  All said and done, I thank Scott for being the person that he is and helped me get through my frustration and anger.

All is well.  I will take today as another victory in getting through this day.

My hugs and kisses to all who matter to me.

Super Bowl Sunday.....

So, gonna give a hand at this blogging thing.  Truthfully, I'll probably forget about it, but hey, I'll give it a shot.  Superbowl Sunday.  That is today.  I really don't care about football, but I do have the DVR set to record the game strictly for the commercials and my very favorite performer, Madonna.

Today was an absolutely perfectly beautiful day.  I continue to grumble about the warm weather, being winter has been pretty much nonexistent this whole season, but I will take advantage of a day like today to enjoy it on my motorcycle.  The morning started with breakfast at AmVets with Scott, Fallon, Katie, Tammy and Jack, followed by a glorious ride to Savannah, Georgia to the Gun & Knife Show.  I did manage to pick up a concealed weapon holder, which I really like.

It is now 5:40 pm, and I'm getting ready to cook up some hot wings.  Scott and Fallon will be home soon, so we can all enjoy the commercials and hot wings together.  :)

If anyone who knows me actually reads this, I just want you to know that I am doing very well.  Life brings many challenges and I'm always ready to tackle that challenge.  Ok, well maybe not really, but life does go on and so must I.  I continue to remain positive, optimistic and realistic.  All is well.

Have a great sunday, football or not!

Aloha, a hui hou!!!
